Iraq Hope

Iraq Hope hosted two Iraqi scholars in the Summer of 2008 for coursework at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The selection process for scholars to attend University of California - San Francisco has just been completed and more details will be posted soon! Although the selection process has been completed for this year, we will be posting details in the coming months regarding future opportunities for exchanges and specifics of the selection process.  

Iraqi Refugee Project

The Iraqi Refugee Project is a team of students from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, who traveled to Jordan in January 2008 to conduct a survey-based assessment of the needs of Iraqi refugees. 

CHI leadership speaking at UCSF, UC-Berkeley, OHSU

CHI co-founders Melinda Morton and Allen Andrews visited the student chapters and conducted speaking engagements at the University of California – San Francisco, the University of California-Berkeley School of Public Health, and the Oregon Health and Sciences in November to spread the word about CHI’s efforts.  Additionally, the UC-Berkeley chapter of CHI has submitted a proposal to fund 2 visiting Iraqi scholars for coursework at the School of Public Health, in conjunction with the University’s Center for Middle East studies.  More updates to come!

CHI to participate in International Red Cross Roundtable

CHI representatives will be present at a roundtable held by the International Committee for the Red Cross on March 5, 2009 in Washington, D.C.  The topic of discussion will be improving health care and other health initiatives in Iraq.
